Loralai's Flower Girl Dress

As I promised I am posting the finally finished Loralai's halter tutu dress last night...well other then the flower but I have to find a glue gun to stick the fake Gerbera Daisy on with. I think for my first time ever making a tutu it turned out pretty well. I think that she is going to look so cute for pictures in the sand! I just have to make sure that I continue to try it on her so she is used to it and does not fuss with it or try to eat it lol.

Christmas Day 2008

Loralai's 1st Christmas!! I love Christmas but I have to tell you that with having Loralai now it just makes the day that much more exciting! She had a great day unwrapping presents, playing with the paper, and finally the toys when we took the paper away lol. Santa brought her a polka dot giraffe in her stocking and she had it in her mouth before it was out of the stocking!! She also loved all the family around, I was worried about her getting overwhelmed but she did great. Here are a few of the millions of pictures we took today, enjoy.

Christmas Eve

Sneak Peak into our Christmas Eve... It was Loralai's 1st Christmas Eve, it was held it at our house this year, and wow the Christmas tree was filled with presents and the house with love! We spend Christmas day with my mom's family and because we live an hour away almost everyone came over on the 24th and stayed the night. Mindy Loralai's godmother came over for a while and my dad's side came over Christmas eve and we had a PJ party, ate appetizers and finger food for dinner, it was a lot of fun! Below are just a few of the pictures that we took :)

Loralai with all the presents. Surprisingly she was not at all tempted to touch any of them!

My cousin Sarah opening her gift from Todd, Loralai, and I, you can not tell from this picture but she really liked it!!

Wedding plan sneak peak!

We are getting married in February, we are super excited and a little stressed since the wedding ceremony will be held in Florida which is a two hour plane ride away, so planning is a little tricky! But we are lucky that Todd's mom and dad that live down in Florida and they are helping tremendously find a location, a photographer, etc. I thought I would share a little sneak peak into our wedding planning so far....

the inspiration for Loralai's flower girl dress:

I have bought the elastic and tulle already so I am excited to get started. I wanted something that was light, adorable, and a bit out of the ordinary.

My flowers:

My foot jewelry since I am not going to be wearing shoes other then flip flops!!

I will make sure that I post Loralai's tutu halter dress as soon as I get it finished!!

Loralai's Godmother

We are getting Loralai baptized in January and we asked our friend Mindy to be her Godmother. The choice was easy and Mindy was thrilled, she even cried! Mindy is the sweetest person, and she brags about Loralai almost more then I do lol.

Both pictures were taken at Mindy's annual Christmas party. Loralai was so good and of course entertaining everyone like the little ham she is :)

Loralai is 6 Months Old!

How fast time flies when your having the most rewarding, happy, scary, exciting time of your life all wrapped up into one! Loralai has learned and grown so much in the last 6 months I am such a proud momma!

Loralai Facts:
  • Is 6 months old today!
  • She weights 15.13 lbs
  • 26.5 inches long
  • Her first word was da da...even with my persistence of "say ma ma"!
  • She can sit up for extended periods of time now
  • Has yet to get any teeth but is teething...soon I hope!
  • Is in size 2 diapers
  • 3-6 month clothing
  • Is still rocking on her hands and knees
  • Loves to reverse crawl

All these pictures were taken at her 6 month pediatrician appointment this afternoon. She loved the paper sheet that they lay out, she was having so much fun with it. I know that Christmas morning the highlight is definitely going to be the wrapping paper! Loralai got her vaccinations today, and she was such a trooper, she cried only until we picked her up which is obviously right after he was finished, and she has been in really good spirits the rest of the day, we will see about tonight :)

Saturday Morning Ritual

It has become sort of a Saturday morning ritual that Loralai and Daddy have a nap together for 1-2 hours. I like this because it gives mommy sometime alone! :)

Are they not just so sweet!

Loralai sleeps like this almost every morning beside mommy because it is the only way that I can get her to sleep longer then 6am! I said that I did not want to start the co-sleeping but it does make it so much easier.

MomsTown Christmas Party

We went to the MomsTown Christmas party yesterday and we had a really fun time. It was a potluck so Todd made cookies at work on Friday and boy were they a hit! I am not sure if anyone has had Subway cookies before but they taste just like those.

We met a lot of families there! Because I am in school and volunteering I am not able to make it to as many MomsTown events as I would like to, so it was nice to meet a lot of the mommies and kiddies! I would say that 98% of the children there were under the age of 2, and you would have thought it would be chaos but all the kids were surprisingly good! You could however see all the different personalities which was really interesting.

Loralai and her new little friend. See how well my little bubba is sitting up!!
Then finally Loralai met Santa for the third time! This time though she got a little present, of course she was much more interested in the present then Santa! The present was a little bear.

Oh Christmas Tree

We went to get our Christmas tree on Sunday. We were going to go to a tree farm, ride on the tractor, and cut our own down, but decided since it was bitter cold and Loralai was just getting over a cold that we would just go to a local nursery instead.

Daddy taking our tree off the roof racks.

This is our Christmas tree decorated. We could not find the angel yet for the top so I will retake the picture when the tree is completed.

Loralai's Christmas tree!!
Except for a couple of the bulbs I handmade the rest of the decorations for her tree, I did this because as she gets older I would like her/us to make all her decorations for her tree, and then when she is in school all the decorations she makes from year to year will be the decorations. I thought this would be a good tradition to start :)

Not the greatest pictures, but here is Loralai in front of the family Christmas tree!

Trying to Crawl

Loralai has been starting to get up on to her hands and knees for the past couple of days now, she normally rocks back & forth for a few moments and then ends up on her belly. But it is the start...which reminds me I need to finish baby proofing!!

Loralai loves to reverse crawl and she has it down to a science BUT then she cries because she leaves all her toys behind! I have started to space her toys out some behind her and some in front just so that she does not get discouraged and cry. So we were excited when she started to get onto her hands and knees.

Drysdale Tree Farm

So we decided that since it was such a beautiful sunny blue sky day that we would go to the opening day of Drysdale Tree Farm. Now Drysdale is much more then just a tree farm they have activities for the kids like face painting, they have a horse pulled slay, a beautiful Christmas store, and Santa and Mrs. Claus in their little house.

This is a picture of the three of us on the horse drawn slay ride. The ride was just beautiful and picturesque!

Loralai and Daddy on the train :)

Loralai and Santa, she is looking over at Mrs. Claus! It was such a beautiful day and since it was just the first day of opening, it was quiet and beautiful. Some people were buying their trees already but I think that we are going to wait until the first weekend in December to get ours.

Santa Claus Parade!

Align CenterWe went to Barrie's 12th annual Santa Claus Parade tonight. Although it was so cold, -17 to be exact, we did have a lot of fun watching all the floats go by! Loralai's Grandma was actually on one of the floats so we stayed until we saw her and then we left since Loralai was starting to get hungry. We are definitely going to go again next year, but we will prepare for the cold more then we did this year! Daddy wore running shoes, mommy wore Uggs with no socks, and Mindy Loralai's God-Mother-to-be wore just a vest, so Loralai was the only one that was well prepared! I guess it is true you definitely worry about yourself last when you have a little one, and of course I would not have it any other way!

My toasty warm girl! She liked all the lights and music, she was just memorized by it all!

I am so glad that Todd got to capture this picture of grandma when she saw us, it is priceless!

The tail end of grandmas float, this picture was taken just before we made a run for the car to get some heat and a bottle!!

My little Ballerina

Yes, I am one of those mom's who loves tutu's, headbands with over-sized flowers, pink, polka dots, stripes, and her pair of very hip black yoga pants (to match mommy of course), sometimes I just can not resist! So this is a picture of my little ballerina :)

Visiting Santa

Loralai went to visit Santa Claus for the first time today! She was wonderful and did not cry or fuss at all, she was very curious and liked looking at Santa. However, she did not want to smile at first but I think it was because there were too many distractions around, we decided since they were not busy to walk around and then come back. So we ate lunch came back and after a lot of goofy faces, bells, and a hand puppet, we got this picture!

Laughing Loralai!

We took this video this afternoon and my-oh-my is Loralai hilarious! Now I maybe bias, but you can not help but smile when you see this video! The quality is kinda poor since I should have turned the light on, but the sound quality is good and that is what counts.

Oh and a couple nights prior to this daddy had Loralai laughing so hard that she spit up and it came out through her nose! Poor little thing was coughing for a couple of seconds but it was definitely priceless :)

Loralai's Got Mail!!

Yesterday Loralai received her first package in the mail from her Grandma Maggie in Florida! It was cute, the package was almost bigger then she is! Grandma Maggie spoiled Loralai and got her a cute sleeper, an adorable dress with leggings, two handmade knitted hats, and some scrapbooking baby stickers (ok those are for mommy!)

The hats are only a tad too big but will fit her soon enough!

Big smiles for Grandma Maggie :)
