Loralai's Flower Girl Dress

As I promised I am posting the finally finished Loralai's halter tutu dress last night...well other then the flower but I have to find a glue gun to stick the fake Gerbera Daisy on with. I think for my first time ever making a tutu it turned out pretty well. I think that she is going to look so cute for pictures in the sand! I just have to make sure that I continue to try it on her so she is used to it and does not fuss with it or try to eat it lol.

Christmas Day 2008

Loralai's 1st Christmas!! I love Christmas but I have to tell you that with having Loralai now it just makes the day that much more exciting! She had a great day unwrapping presents, playing with the paper, and finally the toys when we took the paper away lol. Santa brought her a polka dot giraffe in her stocking and she had it in her mouth before it was out of the stocking!! She also loved all the family around, I was worried about her getting overwhelmed but she did great. Here are a few of the millions of pictures we took today, enjoy.

Christmas Eve

Sneak Peak into our Christmas Eve... It was Loralai's 1st Christmas Eve, it was held it at our house this year, and wow the Christmas tree was filled with presents and the house with love! We spend Christmas day with my mom's family and because we live an hour away almost everyone came over on the 24th and stayed the night. Mindy Loralai's godmother came over for a while and my dad's side came over Christmas eve and we had a PJ party, ate appetizers and finger food for dinner, it was a lot of fun! Below are just a few of the pictures that we took :)

Loralai with all the presents. Surprisingly she was not at all tempted to touch any of them!

My cousin Sarah opening her gift from Todd, Loralai, and I, you can not tell from this picture but she really liked it!!

Wedding plan sneak peak!

We are getting married in February, we are super excited and a little stressed since the wedding ceremony will be held in Florida which is a two hour plane ride away, so planning is a little tricky! But we are lucky that Todd's mom and dad that live down in Florida and they are helping tremendously find a location, a photographer, etc. I thought I would share a little sneak peak into our wedding planning so far....

the inspiration for Loralai's flower girl dress:

I have bought the elastic and tulle already so I am excited to get started. I wanted something that was light, adorable, and a bit out of the ordinary.

My flowers:

My foot jewelry since I am not going to be wearing shoes other then flip flops!!

I will make sure that I post Loralai's tutu halter dress as soon as I get it finished!!

Loralai's Godmother

We are getting Loralai baptized in January and we asked our friend Mindy to be her Godmother. The choice was easy and Mindy was thrilled, she even cried! Mindy is the sweetest person, and she brags about Loralai almost more then I do lol.

Both pictures were taken at Mindy's annual Christmas party. Loralai was so good and of course entertaining everyone like the little ham she is :)

Loralai is 6 Months Old!

How fast time flies when your having the most rewarding, happy, scary, exciting time of your life all wrapped up into one! Loralai has learned and grown so much in the last 6 months I am such a proud momma!

Loralai Facts:
  • Is 6 months old today!
  • She weights 15.13 lbs
  • 26.5 inches long
  • Her first word was da da...even with my persistence of "say ma ma"!
  • She can sit up for extended periods of time now
  • Has yet to get any teeth but is teething...soon I hope!
  • Is in size 2 diapers
  • 3-6 month clothing
  • Is still rocking on her hands and knees
  • Loves to reverse crawl

All these pictures were taken at her 6 month pediatrician appointment this afternoon. She loved the paper sheet that they lay out, she was having so much fun with it. I know that Christmas morning the highlight is definitely going to be the wrapping paper! Loralai got her vaccinations today, and she was such a trooper, she cried only until we picked her up which is obviously right after he was finished, and she has been in really good spirits the rest of the day, we will see about tonight :)

Saturday Morning Ritual

It has become sort of a Saturday morning ritual that Loralai and Daddy have a nap together for 1-2 hours. I like this because it gives mommy sometime alone! :)

Are they not just so sweet!

Loralai sleeps like this almost every morning beside mommy because it is the only way that I can get her to sleep longer then 6am! I said that I did not want to start the co-sleeping but it does make it so much easier.

MomsTown Christmas Party

We went to the MomsTown Christmas party yesterday and we had a really fun time. It was a potluck so Todd made cookies at work on Friday and boy were they a hit! I am not sure if anyone has had Subway cookies before but they taste just like those.

We met a lot of families there! Because I am in school and volunteering I am not able to make it to as many MomsTown events as I would like to, so it was nice to meet a lot of the mommies and kiddies! I would say that 98% of the children there were under the age of 2, and you would have thought it would be chaos but all the kids were surprisingly good! You could however see all the different personalities which was really interesting.

Loralai and her new little friend. See how well my little bubba is sitting up!!
Then finally Loralai met Santa for the third time! This time though she got a little present, of course she was much more interested in the present then Santa! The present was a little bear.

Oh Christmas Tree

We went to get our Christmas tree on Sunday. We were going to go to a tree farm, ride on the tractor, and cut our own down, but decided since it was bitter cold and Loralai was just getting over a cold that we would just go to a local nursery instead.

Daddy taking our tree off the roof racks.

This is our Christmas tree decorated. We could not find the angel yet for the top so I will retake the picture when the tree is completed.

Loralai's Christmas tree!!
Except for a couple of the bulbs I handmade the rest of the decorations for her tree, I did this because as she gets older I would like her/us to make all her decorations for her tree, and then when she is in school all the decorations she makes from year to year will be the decorations. I thought this would be a good tradition to start :)

Not the greatest pictures, but here is Loralai in front of the family Christmas tree!
