My little Sick Bubba!

Loralai was sick last week. It was awful to see her like that, it just breaks your heart that you can not just take the sickness away and make them feel better instantly. She had an ear, throat, and eye infection (goopy eye) that eventually turned into pink eye.

I had to take her to the doctor 3 times (yes 3 times) before they gave her the correct medication, so I will never ever take her to a walk-in clinic ever again! So she is on antibiotics and eye drops, and she finally just got better!

It was truly the most challenging week of my life yet: I was very worried about Loralai, I was exhausted because she wouldn't sleep anywhere but on my chest & my normally happy baby was whining and crying all week (to be expected), and the icing and sprinkles on the cake were that I had exams, and planning on wedding that is taking place in just 8 days! So stress was my middle name. Regardless, we always seem to make it through even though we do not feel like we will, and I am just happy that she is finally better!

I just had to post this picture it was just such a great shot of her little teeth. There was so much chewing and drooling this weekend I think some friends are coming in soon to join the party!

Didgeridoo Fun!

So if everyone who is wondering what a didgeridoo is, it is a wind instrument of the aboriginals in northern Australia. The instrument is traditionally made from living Eucalyptus trees.

The babies really enjoy the didgeridoo since it sends out a vibration along with the deep sound. We all got massages, Shingo ((Loralai's little friend Drake's (blue sleeper below) uncle)) was playing the didgeridoo and the massages came from the vibrations, it was actually very relaxing.


It was a fun cultural experience!

These Pink Boots!


These pink boots are made for crawling and that is just what they'll do, one of these days these boots are going to crawl all over you!!


What a big girl!

Loralai got this little kitchen for Christmas and boy does she have fun with it! She climbs up and crawls through! I just can not believe that she is 7 1/2 months and such a big girl already.



How cute is that little bum?!



She is trying to get the light to flash and sing.

and then there was TWO!!!


Daddy actually discovered this tooth yesterday, and I know that it had to have come in during the night/morning since I have been proudly (constantly) looking at her 1st new little addition, and now there are two!! The 2nd tooth came in without too much trouble, meaning that she was not in as much discomfort as the first one.

Sorry that this is not the greatest picture but it is tough trying to get a picture without her crying or having her tongue in the way, plus I had to zoom in the picture which made it a bit blurry.

CRAWLING!!


Loralai has been in the beginning stages of crawling for a while now. She has the reverse crawling, rocking on her hands and knees, and sitting from the crawling position all down pat; she just needed a little more time to get her arms and legs to work together going forward. Well FINALLY she got it today!! She took her first two crawls this morning while she was at Carrie's house, so I am happy that Carrie and Brandon got to see it! Carrie even tried to video tape it but her camera battery died just before Loralai crawled :(

Loralai is a little spazzy crawling yet, and she pose's a lot, but I am such a proud momma!!

Loralai got her.....


FIRST TOOTH!!


It came in today :) Finally all the recent sleepless nights have come to reward us with this beautiful tiny little tooth! When looking into her mouth it is the left tooth. I am going to try and get a picture soon, but of course when she knows your coming to look at it her mouth goes as tight as Fort Knox's! The only way that I got to actually see it was when she was crying, of course though you can feel it. Loralai all day has been using her tongue to feel it, it is so cute!!

First Big Girl Bath!!

Loralai had her first big girl bath this evening! She was getting a little bit big for her little tub and thought that she would have much more fun splashing and playing with her toys!

I laid her down to clean off the soap from her hair and she was a little bit uneasy about it, so I just continued talking to her and made sure that she (in my mind) felt safe! She had lots of fun!!

Happy New Year


I can not believe it is 2009 already. I said to Todd last night that I was sad that it was no longer Loralai's birth year since it makes her seem so much older now :( (I know it is silly)

Anywho last night for whatever reason we did not bring the camera so we have no pictures of New Years Eve, but we had a lot of fun. We went bowling it started at 6:30pm and went until 8:30pm, but every time slot they had included a new years countdown. So we all got party hats, gingerale in a plastic wine glass, horns, and did the 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 at 8pm! It was kinda fun since we got to include Loralai since for sure she would be sleeping at midnight! lol...or maybe not.

So after bowling we all went back to our house...Carrie, Colin, Brandon, Daddy, grandma, grandpa, Loralai and I; and we played a trivia game and ate some junk food. Loralai was fast asleep in her crib until about 11:40pm but I guess she just did not want to miss the real countdown to 2009, and normally I would have tried to get her to sleep again but Daddy went and got her so that she wouldn't miss it. So at midnight we clapped & kissed, and of course Loralai thought this was fabulous! Then at about 12:10am everyone went home and we went to bed, Loralai had a bottle and fell asleep in mommy and daddy's bed. It was a fun family New Years :)
