Loralai's 1st Birthday Invitation!!

I am very excited with the way the invitation turned out! I wanted to get something that was unique, special, and of course incorporated our cupcake theme! I love it.

I ordered it from a Etsy, my favourite website! All the items that are sold on the website are all handmade and original, which is the reason why I like it so much.

Birthday Invite Photos....

that may have not made the cut...but of course are gorgeous anyway!

I had to conduct two photo shoots since my little lovely Loralai definitely had her own ideas about what she was going to do, or in my case not do! lol. Do you think that I could get her to look at the camera and smile? Nope! I tried everything including bribery, which normally would work but since for the photo shoot I wanted to have sweets involved already nothing could top the cookie or the mini cake! Enjoy.

" Mommy what a delcious cookie!" Of course she did only get one bite out of it since it was so hard but she loved gnawing on it.

Mommy did eat most of this carrot-pumpkin cake after this photo was taken. So yummy but so bad!

The only picture Daddy got her to smile in and the picture came out all grainy :( So we could not use it for the invite.

Splish Splashin Fun!

Finally it is warm enough to bring out the baby pool!
Loralai's Godmother Carrie and I got Loralai and her friend Ian ready this morning, and went outside and had some fun. This is the first time Loralai has played in a little pool before and boy-oh-boy did she have a great time!

The water was still a tad chilly but that did not even faze these two! They had their water, buckets, shovels, and they were set. Loralai is sporting her brand new swimsuit. I thought it was important to have a full swimsuit when she will be in the sun a lot, and this one has UV 50. The less sun for this beautiful bathing beauty the better! Loralai and I are going out tomorrow to get our very own little pool...come on summer we will be ready for you!

11 Months!!

I can not believe that Loralai is 11 months already! My little baby is almost officially a toddler. I say officially because now that she is walking, talking up a storm (mostly gibberish), has her own unique personality, is already wanting to be very independent, and sometime the occasional temper tantrum when she does not get her own way, she already acts like a little toddler.

There is just 30 days until she has her very first birthday :) Of course Mommy has already started planning, and her fancy cupcake dress is ordered and being made, and the invites should be ordered and mailed out by this week!

Loralai Fun Facts:

Loralai is approximately 21lbs and is in size 6-9 month clothing, and size 3 shoe.
She is already quite independent. She only eats food she can pick up on her own, and she would rather crawl then to have you help her walk like if she is unable to get somewhere on her own i.e.: like up a hill
She definitely knows what 'be gentle' and 'no no' is and for the most part complies
She loves to open cupboards and drawers
Loralai says 'Bubba' when she wants a bottle

She waves bye bye and says 'buh buh', and when you tell her to say hello she puts her hand to her ear and says 'hi' ( I have no idea where she got that from lol)
Loralai has just started sitting at the top of the stairs and will call down to 'Dada' lol so cute!
She loves anything with cheese!
She is my social butterfly and loves playing with other children/babies. She likes to hug and kiss them, I am going to have to watch out when she gets to be a teenager I think lol.
Loralai can say "up" and occasionally winks!

She can climb up the stairs
Loralai loves to be outside going for walks or playing at the park on the swing
Her favourite show is 4 Squares. She could be in the other room and hear the theme song and she crawls (because it is faster then walking for now) right over and watches intently.
Loralai likes drinking orange juice (watered down of course) and she likes limes!

What happens when....

you have a Mommy that is not prepared!

We went to the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto this morning. It is one of our favourite spots because it has such a great atmosphere, and there is a ton of great fresh meat, seafood, cheese, produce, and so much more! Todd and I used to go there every weekend when we used to live in the city, but now that we live about an hour away and have Loralai it is definitely not as easy as it used to be!

Anywho, we left this morning at 6am and Loralai was definitely not happy when we woke her up since she is used to being the one in charge in that department! lol. Daddy changed her diaper and we just left her in the sleeper and hoodie, got Grandma and started on our way. Well apparently it was kinda early and Daddy did not put the diaper tight enough and we had a leaker everywhere! Mommy did not think of packing extra clothes so we went to the Great Grandparents house who live close to the market, and Loralai borrowed one of Great Grandpa's t'shirts, she looked like she was going to a toga party but it worked!!

More bits and pieces of Mothers day.

I know that Mother's day was last Sunday but I thought I would share some more bits and pieces of my first Mother's Day...

I decided to have photo cards made for Loralai's Grandmothers, Great Grandmothers, and of course her two lovely God Mothers, since for most of these wonderful ladies this was their first Mother's Day as Grandma, God Mother, and Great Grandma.

Even though I am her mom, it takes many strong women to help raise this little beauty of mine, and it is important to me (and hopefully them as well) to show them that they are definitely a great influence in Loralai's world. Below I have shown the Grandma's card but they all looked the same.

I was so excited to get some scrapbooking storage for my workspace for Mother's Day! I also got some very special cards from Loralai and Daddy :)

Happy Mothers Day

Today I got to celebrate my first Mothers Day as a Mommy, and I could not help but remember the last 10 months that got me here to this day! The day that Loralai was born was the most beautiful and scary moment of my life, and I knew at that moment I was replacing my given name for one that millions other women share, but I couldn't wait to be your mommy. It is by far the best name I could ever have hoped for, and I am truly blessed!

My Friend

Friends come
Friends go
But a true friend is there to watch you GROW!!
(author unknown)

I thought this poem was fitting to the conversation that Drake's mom Maggie and I had the other afternoon when we were together. We were laughing and reminiscing at the fact that when we first met our little babies could hardly sit up, and now they have hit almost every milestone around the same time: rolling over, crawling, cruizing, and now walking!! They were once just these two tiny little helpless babies, and now they are almost little toddlers.

Spring Time Fun!!

Loralai, Ian, Carrie, & I went to a MomsTown (a moms group I am part of) event that they were holding at a local park yesterday. It was great fun! They had little stations set up with different activities for children 0-5 years old like: planting flowers in pots that the kids can decorate, gymnastics equipment, toys, rabbits, a firetruck and ambulance, story time, and the list goes on!

"Hey wait for me Ian!"

"Here I come , watch out world!" lol :)

Ian playing with the toys at the toy station!

Loralai had a lot of fun sitting in the firetruck! She actually did not want to come out...maybe we have a future firefighter on our hands lol.

Video of Loralai Walking

I finally got a video!

It is unbelievable how much babies learn so much and grow so fast in such a short period of time. Loralai is just 10.5 months old but has already learned some very incredible things, and has even taught me so much about patience, persistence, pure joy, happiness, love, and the list is endless! I know I am gushing but can you blame me? I am such a proud Mommy :)

Sorry that I video is sideways.
