Happy 4 Months! (pedi appointment)

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You,
Happy 4 Months my Baby,
I Love You!

I can not believe that Loralai is 4 months already!
It is absolutely amazing how fast time goes by,
how much she has changed,
and how much she can do now!

Highlights from her appointment:
  • Loralai weights 13.7lbs
  • 25.5 inches long
  • Pedi said that she was advanced for rolling already
  • She can start to have cereal and food now!
  • She was all smiles until she got her needles but
only cried for 30 seconds, she did great!

Above is the picture of Loralai before her needles...after it was more of a pout and red cheeks!
But after about 1-2 hours after she was back to her smiley self!

Trying to Crawl!

Loralai is a mover she never stops! she is definitely going to be a go getter which I think is great. Loralai as you know decided that one day it was the day to roll over both ways for the first time, and she always wants to stand, loves being out and about, and being in the front carrier because she wants to take in the whole world.
Well Loralai will be 4 months on Thursday and as you see or will see in the video wants to crawl and get around herself so bad! I do not think it will be too long before her hands/arms get in sync with her legs and she is off!!

Happy Thanksgiving

We went for a great turkey dinner at the Farwell's residence yesterday! Turkey is not my favourite but oh the stuffing and lemon meringue pie (home made by my mom)!

Loralai played a little shy yesterday which I thought was a tad bit early for and would fuss or cry if she wasn't with Todd, myself, grandma or grandpa, but by the end of the day she was fine!

Above are just a few pictures of my little turkey :) we got her a 'my first Thanksgiving' bib just for this occasion, it was a great day full of family and of course food!

My lil thumb sucker!

Loralai is officially a thumb sucker. I was hoping that she would take an interest in her pacifier, since it is easier to break a pacifier habit later on then a thumb one! She spends a majority of her day with this little thumb in her mouth, even while eating! Mommy has to remove thumb from beside bottle nipple about 100 times during eating now, I think she had made it into a game about 'how many ways I can I get mommy to try and distract me from putting my thumb in my mouth' I think she is winning because she persistent! I would let her leave it there but it takes so much longer to feed her if it is in there since she does not get a good grasp of the nipple.

But she does (at least for now) look so cute with her little thumb in there!

A day at the pumpkin farm

Today Loralai, Todd, Brandon (my cousin) and myself went to Whittamore's pumpkin farm. Todd's work was hosting a family day there and what a great way to spend a crisp sunny fall day! We went on a hay ride, through a corn maze, watched pumpkins shoot from a canon, ate a free lunch, Brandon picked out the two most perfect pumpkins for Loralai and himself, and so much more!

We brought Loralai's Halloween costume because I wanted to take pictures of my pumpkin among the pumpkins! It really was just a fun fun day :)

Loralai went to sleep at 5pm tonight because she was so exhausted from all the activities, she never made a peep all day (but lots of smiles) because was just so busy watching everything that was going on. I tried to wake her up by tickling, talking, picking her up, and walking around with her but she was out like a light and did not even attempt to open her eyes! I guess it is going to be an early morning tomorrow for mommy and daddy lol.

Favourite Picture of the week!

I took this picture of Loralai this morning. I had been having such a hard time catching a smile while she is looking toward's the camera, because once she saw the camera or the flash she would immediately go straight faced or the smile would disappear too quick to capture it. So this morning I finally caught a smile!! she was actually laughing (I was roaring like a lion and she loves it lol) but I think so far this is one of my favourite photos of her, it really captures her personality because normally she is always smiling or giggling :) and if you can see the little piece of hair sticking up on the side of her head, I can not get that piece to stay down (and oh how I try!), I guess it is because she favours that side of her head when she sleeps!

Loralai SCARED Mommy!

This morning at around 5am, I heard Loralai squirming a bit, I knew that she was hungry but was not making any whining noises or crying so I continued to lay there for a few more minutes. I then decided that I should get up and feed her because I had to get in a little studying before I had to take her over to my cousin Carrie's while I wrote my exam.

WELL I walk up to the crib and Loralai (who as you know just learned how to roll) is laying there face down not moving...I freaked out scooped her up and flipped her over, she starts crying probably thinking 'what the heck is going on I was sleeping here', I am now shaking because I was TERRIFIED and continued to for about 20 minutes after.

Needless to say we reinstated the sleep positioner at least until she is a pro at rolling because there is no way that I can feel like that again! We also do not use bumpers because I feel the consequences outweigh the benefits 100 to 1; a couple of weeks ago I also started using a sleep sack which works wonderfully (does not some off with kicking, keeps her warm) and there is no worrying about blankets being pulled over the face, win win situation!

I am glad that Loralai's crib is in the same room with me now, otherwise I think I would be sleeping on the floor beside the crib if it wasn't!

Stretched to the max this week

This week has been pretty pack full of stress week between school and being a mommy to a 3 1/2 month old. I had 4 midterm exams and 2 papers due and only 24 hours in a day!!

I got my papers completed last week knowing that their just would be no time between 6 classes, mommy and me class, infant massage class, ample study time (Always after Loralai went to bed or if Grandma had time to watch her for a couple of hours), and of course fitting sometime in their for Todd and sleep!

Well I did get Tuesday's exam back for my compensation class and I scored a 90% so I am pretty excited about that! My last exam is Labour Relations tomorrow at 3pm, and then tomorrow night Todd, Loralai, and I are going out for dinner for some well deserved down time :)

Wish me luck!
